SOCIOANALYTIC PRACTICE
Dr. Mónica Rocío Velarde Lazarte
The aim of a Socioanalytic Practice is to search for the psychoanalytic truth of the person, group, community, organization or society by bringing insight and increasing conscious awareness of otherwise unconscious aspects of their making. The resulting experience is revitalising. When purpose is clarified, meaning transforms into value.

ABOUT ME
My Background
I am a Socioanalyst and a Psychologist.
As a Socioanalyst, I work within the Tavistock Tradition. My main focus is understanding, coaching and helping individuals and social systems (organisations, communities, families) and their members. I have a large experience working internationally across cultures and languages. I am here to explore different ways to work with you and/or your organisation.
As a Psychologist, I work with individuals and groups, adults and adolescents. Being an international citizen I understand the challenges of international life and the Expat community.
On my free time I am also an entrepreneur who loves creating opportunities for communication and connection. As I like to weave my different passions, this year I am launching a new project "The Territory" an experiential platform for learning and freedom, also a potential space for our work.
I am a Professional Partner of the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations and I work in Spanish, English and French.

STUDIES IN PSYCHOANALYSIS
I am passionated about Psychoanalysis. I discovered it when working as a manager in a Peruvian Bank. At the time, I was looking for powerful ways to create deep cultural change. Ever since, I have kept finding new ways to learn and apply my knowledge.
Over the years, I specialized in the Tavistock tradition to work with groups, communities and organizations but I have later enrich my working approach by the experience of personal analysis and by participating of the Foundations Programs of the Society for Analytic Psychology - SAP and the Introductory lectures, the Political Mind Seminars and the Foundation Program of the Institute of Psychoanalysis in London, UK.
After this taste for theory and application of clinical psychoanalysis I moved into training in Adult Psychoanalisis at Iptar- Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in New York, USA. Currently, I relocated permanently to France where I will continue to pursue the rest of my analytic training.

PROFESIONAL DOCTORATE IN CONSULTATION AND THE ORGANIZATION
My dissertation is based on a research study conducted on the adaptation of the Tavistock Group Relations Method for work with Amazonian Communities in the Peruvian Amazon. Using critical incidents and participants testimonies, the study examines how the method was modified in response to the demands of the environment. I also consider how the conferences outputs differ from those normally expected or documented in traditional Group Relations Conferences.
The dissertation explores the adaptation of the Tavistock Group Relations Method in the case of the Hope of the Amazon Program and Hope of the Amazon Civil Association, following a group of Amazonian participants over a period of seven years.
Key words: Tavistock Group Relations Method, democratic learning, social inclusion, community development.
