You are welcome to join any of the five encounters. We warmly encourage you to join the whole series: dreams and the connections between them grow from one encounter to the next, and the matrix deepens as we return to it together.

Dreaming for a cause

Please name the local charity you intend to support. Your contribution may be a financial donation or an offer of your skills and time.

Your information, your participation, and our shared inquiry

Social Dreaming · El Niño — Privacy notice

Socioanalytic Practice respects the personal nature of the information and experiences you share.

Who is responsible for your information

Dr Mónica Velarde Lazarte, trading as Socioanalytic Practice, is responsible for your information (the controller). Contact: admin@socioanalyticpractice.com.

Why we collect information

Your name and email address are used to manage your application, confirm registration and send access information and communications about this event. Background information helps us understand the social contexts represented within the group; it is not used to interpret individual participants or their dreams. You may answer “Prefer not to say” to the demographic questions where the form says so.

How you take part, and payments

Neither Socioanalytic Practice nor The Territory takes payments or receives your payment details.

Who can access it

Applications are accessible only to Dr Mónica Velarde Lazarte, the venue's Venue Architect, and the people who direct and administer this event (its Event Directors and Event Administrators), inside The Territory with their own account, and only to organise it: they see your name, email, location, occupation, the encounters you chose and, if the event has payment options, how you chose to take part. A copy of each application is sent to her designated Socioanalytic Practice email account. Hosts and publication collaborators receive only what is necessary for their role, using summaries or material with identifying details removed wherever possible.

Dreams, associations and publication

The series aims to produce a publication exploring our shared inquiry, and taking part includes agreeing to it: once shared in the matrix, dreams, associations and images are offered to the matrix, and may be used, without your name, for the series and its publication, together with the photographs of participants’ environments. Published material will not name the contributor or connect a dream to their registration record. Identifying details will be removed or changed and material reviewed for the risk of identification. Other participants hear what is shared in a matrix. Everyone is asked to respect confidentiality, although we cannot guarantee other participants’ behaviour.

Photographs

Photographs of your environment, with their titles, subtitles and captions, are held in a private gallery for the organisers and may be used in the series’ publication, without your name or anything that identifies you. Your own photo (the picture of you) is used only inside The Territory, where others see it when your camera is off; it is never published. Please avoid other people’s private information and identifiable people without their permission.

The reasons we use your information

  • To run the event you asked to join: your name, email, the encounters you chose, your photo and your access to The Territory.
  • Our legitimate interest in understanding the social context of the group, only in summaries: the background questions the form asks, and the photograph of your environment for the private gallery. You may object by writing to us.
  • Your explicit consent: ethnicity, only if the form asks it and you tick its box.
  • The purpose of the event, which taking part includes: the publication of dreams, associations and images shared in the matrix, and of the photographs of participants’ environments, without identifying anyone.
  • Your consent: emails about future events, only if you tick the box.
  • A legal obligation: keeping the record of your choices after the rest is deleted, as proof.

Where your information is kept, and for how long

Your registration, photographs and photo are kept on our server in the UK, which we call “Good Enough” (Hostinger, Manchester). Each night an encrypted copy is kept on our second server in Germany, which we call “Winnicott”, for 90 days, so that nothing is lost if Good Enough fails; only Dr Mónica Velarde Lazarte and Dr Benedikt Hegner can unlock it. In The Territory, sound and video pass through Winnicott: they are only relayed, never recorded, and its logs are kept for 14 days at most. Emails are sent through Google Workspace (Google), which may process them in Europe. Everything is deleted on 31 March 2027, 15 days after the last encounter. A record of the permissions you gave (your name, your email, what you agreed to and when) is kept separately, as proof of your choices, for as long as the publication needs it.

Live captions

Captions are there for anyone who needs them, for example people who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who follow better in writing. Each person switches them on or off for themselves. Only while someone has them on is speech in the room turned into text, live, on our own server in Germany; neither the speech nor the text is stored, and nothing goes to an outside company. Captions are in English; French, Spanish and Chinese are being added.

Emails about future events

Only if you tick the box, we will email you about future events of Socioanalytic Practice. You can stop them at any time by replying to any of them or writing to admin@socioanalyticpractice.com.

Your choices and rights

Optional consent (ethnicity, emails about future events) can be withdrawn by contacting admin@socioanalyticpractice.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully carried out. What you have shared in the matrix has been offered to the matrix and may still be used, without identifying you, if you leave the series. Once material is irreversibly anonymised, it may no longer be possible to identify and remove a contribution; publications already distributed cannot necessarily be recalled.

Depending on the applicable legal basis, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to use of your information. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

If you do not select this option, your ethnicity response will not be sent or saved.

The ethnicity permission and the emails about future events are optional. Your own photo (the picture of you) is never published.
